A real fuss has risen since the well-known Anandtech portal, which deals with benchmarks and comparisons between devices, brought to light the hot question on the falsified benchmarks on many platforms by MediaTek. In fact, an incorrect performance management by the chipmaker was found.
A question that unfortunately also brushes aside the most significant events with Chinese companies such as Huawei by the US ban and which certainly does not do much good for the popularity of Asian manufacturers.
3D Mark ban all smartphones with SoC MediaTek
Having said that, to say its opinion on this issue of false bechmarks, Qualcomm thought that it was extraneous and contrary to these dynamics, even more knowing the negative popular opinion against MediaTek, which promptly defended its position but without success.
The fact is that the UL Benchmarks team has also decided to act, banning all smartphones with SoC MediaTek. For those who don't know, behind this team there are important realities such as 3DMark, PCMark and the future FutureMark. Therefore, starting from this moment, all smartphone models with MediaTek Helio G90, G70, P96, P90, P65, P60, P20 and A22 processor cannot be tested with the aforementioned apps.
The list of smartphones equipped with such SoCs is really long considering the many manufacturers who have used them on their low-mid rangem devices such as Xiaomi, Redmi, Huawei, OPPO, Realme, Honor, Vivo, Nokia, Sony, Meizu, Samsung, Wiko and Alcatel. But also Lenovo, Elephone, Oukitel, Coolpad, UMIDIGI, Ulefone, Doogee, Leagoo, Cubot, Vernee and BlackView, to name just a few.
Perhaps few used these platforms to check the performance of their devices, but a strong signal remains for all lovers of pure benchmrk, considering that for some time even AnTuTu has no longer been available on the Google Play Store. For MediaTek, however, the question represents a setback from a professional point of view, repeatedly challenged by the crisis and competition.
