As had happened with the Xiaomi Black Shark 3, the Asus ROG Phone 3 will be presented in collaboration with Tencent; the two companies just have it on Weibo, the Chinese Twitter. The launch will take place in July, although a precise date has not yet been announced. The smartphone will be available in a version deeply customized by Tencent, just like the predecessor, the ROG Phone II.
Asus ROG Phone 3: Confirmed the launch for the next month
Tencent Games said it will work with Republic of Gamers in China to provide "in-depth cooperation" and will focus on "optimizing game content performance for hardware" and "creating a game experience closer to the player" . Just like last year, we expect Tencent to provide better optimization and allocation of resources to some of its games.
For those unfamiliar with Tencent, it's the company behind Call of Duty: Mobile, the Chinese version of PUBG and many other virtually unknown hit titles outside the Chinese market.
The Tencent smartphone edition released last year had a starting price of 3500 Yuan (€ 455), about 40% less than the standard version which instead cost 6000 Yuan (€ 800). We therefore expect something similar with the ROG Phone 3. Finally, it is assumed that there is a version with 16GB of RAM.
