ASUS has just made the ROG Phone 3 official, which becomes one of the first smartphones equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus together with the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone Pro that we have seen in this post.

The new chipset comes with a 3,09 GHz clock, which brings a 10% performance improvement over the previous version. In addition, the plus supports Wi-Fi 6E, which works in the 6 GHz band and offers both greater bandwidth and lower latency.
Together with the new chipset we then find a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and a maximum of 16 GB, while the storage space starts at 128 GB and reaches up to 512 GB. In both cases it is RAM memory LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1.
The new 6,6 ″ AMOLED screen offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz, although 120 Hz, 90 Hz and “auto” can also be chosen from the settings.
Asus has also reworked the software to achieve a touch latency of 25ms (270Hz touch sample rate). This is the lowest of all current smartphones, the company says. The screen also shows a nice picture, with support for HDR10 +, a deltaE <1 and covers 113% of the DCI-P3 range.
While for gaming we find ultrasound shoulder buttons that have been made more customizable.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.000 mAh battery and supports 30 W fast charging via USB Power Delivery (same as the second generation). Asus claims that a 46-minute charge will push 4.510 mAh into the battery, reaching a 70% charge. Most fast charging solutions start to slow down to 70% (to protect the battery), so a smaller battery with a faster charger would get less.
For the cameras, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 adopts three cameras on the back with resolutions of 64MP for the main, 13MP with an ultra wide lens and 5MP for the macro. In front we find instead a single 24MP camera.
Finally, the Asus ROG Phone 3 will cost € 1.000 for the configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space and € 1100 for the one with 16GB of RAM.
