After several months of uncertainty, the technology giant ASUS has just confirmed that its next gaming phone will be called ROG Phone 5.

The company broke the news via a post on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) while talking about the collaboration with Tencent Games, the famous Chinese game developers.
In particular ASUS has declared that it is about to begin the third year of the successful collaboration with Tencent Games (2019-2021). In fact, we recall that ASUS had collaborated with Tencent Games in the launch of the ROG Phone 2 in 2019.
In any case, ASUS has not yet confirmed the launch date of the device, but several leaks suggest that the device could be launched in India in March. There is also the possibility that ASUS will announce it at the next MWC in Shanghai which is scheduled for February 23-25. But this is currently only an unconfirmed hypothesis officially.
As for the device itself, the ROG Phone 5 could be available in two variants: ASUS_I005DA and ASUS_I005DB. Among these, the I005DA appears to have a secondary “screen” on the back which is nothing more than a dot matrix LED like those of the ROG Zephyrus G14 laptops. While the second variant will not have this technology.
Finally, from a spec point of view, TENAA reveals that the device will have a 6,78-inch display, Snapdragon 888 chipset, three cameras, 6.000 mAh dual-cell battery and Android 11 operating system.
