Binah.ai is the app that monitors health with the smartphone camera

The measurement of the blood pressure it is a practice that helps to monitor key vital signs. But who would have thought, years ago, that even smartphones can measure this value in the future? Binah.ai presented an innovative monitoring system. The application works with the camera of a smartphone or laptop and allows you to calculate blood pressure by analyzing the video of the face. But not only: the our health as a whole is controlled thanks to the platform.

In recent years the smartband and smartwatches have become indispensable tools for us. This because (only some) allow you to measure blood pressure. Clearly this measurement does not replace that of a professional product or a doctor, but it can help keep our health under control. The Binah.ai platform is one software solution based on video lesson e on artificial intelligence which allows any industry that needs real-time health data to easily extract a wide range of measurements.

Measurements include pressure blood, heart rate, heart rate variability (raw data HRV SDNN and RRI), oxygen saturation, breath frequency, stress, organisers' activities parasympathetic and pulse-respiration quotient (PRQ).

Despite the strong statements of the authors of the project, the experts express doubts on the effectiveness of the method. Numerous studies remain to be done to understand how the technology might work for people with different skin colors, facial hair, or makeup. The developers claimed to have conducted studies on their device on 264 patients and showed comparable results to home blood pressure monitors. 

At the end of February they will start wide clinical studies. Their results will be used to license the Food and Drug Administration. At the moment, the application can only be used for informational purposes, but not for medical purposes. Binah.ai claims to be already in negotiations with leading laptop and smartphone manufacturers to integrate its app into the devices it sells.
