OPPO has just presented the new ColorOS 11 operating system globally, becoming one of the first brands to release the latest OS from Google.
Official ColorOS 11: These are the main features
The new ColorOS 11 arrives with the motto “Make Life Flow” and represents a mix between the features of stock Android and the customization of the user interface so loved by OPPO users. The brand managed to release the new OS so quickly also thanks to a close collaboration with Google.
But let's see how OPPO has customized the user interface starting from the Always-On Display, themes, backgrounds, fonts and much more that from today users can completely modify to their liking.
Added to this is the possibility of customizing the Dark mode with three color schemes and contrast levels, so that we can choose the most comfortable combination for our needs.
At the same time, if we are looking for something that makes us relax, OPPO has introduced the Relax 2.0 which allows users to create their own mix of sounds, such as that produced by rain and even sounds from cities like Tokyo, Reykjiavik and many others.
ColorOS 11's focus on user interface customization has been designed to fully satisfy consumers' desire for an ever more personalized and unique experience.
The ColorOS team listened to user feedback to achieve an ever greater degree of user interface customization, offering a more personalized service including a wide range of features. Thanks to this new product, we can offer users a large space to demonstrate their creativity and the ability to manage their phones in an increasingly autonomous way.Lynn Ni, OPPO ColorOS Design Project Lead of OPPO
As for the more practical side, the ColorOS 11 adopts new features that improve its efficiency in everyday use, one of these is the "Three-Finger Translate" of Google Lens created in collaboration with OPPO that allows us to shoot a screenshot of a piece of text and automatically translate it into the desired language. This means that even the images will no longer be a hassle to translate, conforming to what we have been able to do with textual sources for several years.
We then have a very useful feature for multi-tasking called FlexDrop. With FlexDrop we can resize an app in a small window, so that we can watch videos and chat with friends at the same time. While with the Device Control feature we can control a second device without having to install third-party applications.
From the standpoint of autonomy, OPPO has announced the new Super Power Saving Mode that allows us to choose six applications that will never be closed even when the battery has very little charge. Thanks to this feature, you can use WhatsApp for up to 90 minutes with only 5% battery. With the Battery Guard function, however, damage resulting from prolonged charging at unstable supply voltages is prevented.
As it should be, OPPO has also optimized the new operating system to increase its fluidity. In particular, the UI First 2.0 is introduced in combination with the Quantum Animation Engine patented by the brand. This results in an optimization of the RAM used by as much as 45%, an increase in response speed of 32% and an improvement in frame rate stability of about 17%.
In addition, we have the AI App Preloading features to preload the most used apps and SuperTouch to optimize the touch response speed.
Finally, we come to the question of safety. ColorOS 11 integrates the new privacy options found on Android 11 to improve privacy protection and data security.
In particular, we find the new Private System that duplicates applications and data, making them accessible only through a fingerprint scan or a special password, so we can divide our work and social life very simply. While with App Lock we can lock the applications themselves through a password, fingerprint or facial recognition.
The authorization system has also been optimized, so for example you have to re-access the camera, microphone and GPS every time we reopen an app (if so configured). Additionally, scoped storage restricts apps' access to phone data to prevent malicious apps from accessing data from other apps without user permission.
The rollout of the ColorOS 11 beta begins today, while the official version will arrive in the coming weeks with the batch-by-batch method, starting with the Find X2 Series. Keep following us for the updates that will follow in the coming months.
