DJI has revealed its brand new drone, the DJI Air 2S which combines the portability that the Air range is known for, with a new photo sensor. This one, compared to before, is bigger. The 1 ″ sensor is capable of capturing 20 megapixel images or video in resolution 5.4 K. In addition, there is a new post-flight software that allows you to do part of the editing work. Is called Mastershots and uses a number of new features to edit a video after it has been shot.

The DJI Air 2S drone independently plans its flight path, as revealed by the company, and chooses between acquisition mode Proximity, Portrait o Landscape. Once you've chosen the best video mode, start shooting. At the end of the "race" you can choose between various themes and the DJI Fly app will modify the movie accordingly. Other video tools include Focus Track, with which it is possible to highlight a subject and then fly the Air 2S autonomously around it, follow it to keep it in the frame or be piloted manually while automatically keeping the subject centered. There is no shortage of the usual pre-settings Quick shots e Hyperlapse.
As for the camera, this can shoot in 5.4K resolution to 30 fps o 4K is 60 fps. A new digital zoom has been inserted, which supports magnification 4X while shooting in 4K at 30fps. Or you can get to 6X at a resolution of 2.7K at 30fps. Alternatively, the more "basic" options are 4X 2.7K resolution at 60fps, 6X resolution 1080 pixels at 60fps o 8X resolution 1080 pixels at 30fps. DJI Air 2S is equipped with a large choice of acquisition H.264 o H.265 and more Normal (8-bit), D-Log (10-bit) and HLG (10-bit) color profiles.
For photos, the new one SmartPhoto mode uses scene analysis to automatically switch between modes HDR, hyperlight e Auto Recognize, based on which the drone will produce the most suitable result. Clearly, after shooting the videos, it will be possible to further edit the product even if according to the company there will be no need. They were also included 8 GB of storage space integrated for images and videos.

As for the flight, there are up to 31 minutes of autonomy from a single charge, and the DJI Air 2S has four antennas and the last one OcuSync transmission system of the company. The autonomy and the signal hold up to almost 12 kilometers away. The drone was built with much more resistant materials than the previous model and this makes it suitable even for less sunny days (within certain limits, of course). THE sensors with which the DJI Air 2S drone is equipped are of smaller size but better quality. They allow for superior skills when it comes to spotting oncoming objects or obstacles, even at high speeds.
A very interesting function is the one that allows you to adjust the flight angle based on the speed at which the drone is traveling. To this is added, as we said, its ability to recognize obstacles "on the fly". At lower speeds, theWHAT 4.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System) from DJI has a wider field of view than before. There is also one Return-To-Home function (RTH) updated, which returns the Air 2S to its launch position if the battery is critically discharged or the connection with the controller is lost.
Il DJI Air 2S is on sale today, priced at 999 €. A better version is available, which the company calls Fly More Combo, a 1309 €. This offers two extra batteries (bringing the total to three) along with a charging hub, ND filters and a DJI shoulder bag also offers DJI Care Refresh, Its drone insurance plan that covers in-flight accidents.
