DxOMark is not only audio and video bankmark, but now also battery

DxOMark is known for smartphone and speaker testing. In the first case, the platform evaluates the quality video lesson, audio e photographic of the devices while in the second case, as obvious, only the audio. Some time ago we also saw that China wants to have its own personal benchmark space, such and such to this. But before seeing that, the company announced something new: from May 10, the platform it will also evaluate the battery of mobile devices.

DxOmark will no longer only evaluate the audio and video sector of smartphones, but also the autonomy: the definitive battery test is coming!

According to what was leaked by a Tweet from the official DxOMark channel, the next step of the benchmark platform will be the one dedicated to autonomy. After testing the waters with the audio ratings (which came after those videos and photos), starting with 10st May the portal will dedicate an area of its site to smartphone batteries. The behind-the-scenes team has now become a point of reference (for some) when it comes to photography and aims to become one in this other sector too.

No details have emerged about how and how much the team will evaluate the batteries of mobile devices, but we are sure that the tests (usually super thorough) will take into consideration several points. Primarily how long does a smartphone take to recharge. In recent times the top of the range, but also the mid range, have adopted ultra-fast reloads. It ranges from 33W up to 120W of power. But this also means a possible overheating of the device: we do not exclude that one of the "voices" that DxOMark will insert in the test will be the heat developed by the battery.

All tuned to 10st May therefore! We expect that the first devices to be tested will be top of the range that make autonomy their strong point.
