Google wants to simplify our life with Android Ready SE Alliance: a sort of protocol to transform our smartphone into a multi-use key
Digital keys, mobile driving license (mDL), Nazionale ID, electronic passport e eMoney solutions (wallets) are just some of the ideas Google has in mind with the Android Ready SE Alliance. However, hardware power is needed to do this. For Google, the first thing to see is the tamper-proof hardware, such as the chip Titan M by Pixel, which makes key archiving possible. All of these features must run on tamper-proof hardware to protect the integrity of application executables and a user's data, keys, wallet, and more. Most modern phones now include tamper-proof, discrete hardware called the Secure Element (SE).
SE suppliers are joining a Google to create a set of open source, validated and ready-to-use applets. Today the General Availability (GA) version of Strong Box for SE. This applet is qualified and ready for use by Google OEM partners. In addition to smartphones, StrongBox will be available for Wear OS, Android Auto e Android TV.
