That's why the Pixel 6 will rock all businesses, including Qualcomm

Pixel 6 and 6 Pro they will come out next week and an extremely interesting launch is expected. The reasons are many and we will not analyze them all here. Just think of the fact that the devices will bring a truly unique design (and it was needed) but above all a truly superior hardware sector. And this is exactly what we are going to analyze today. Recall that the two devices will mount the much talked about google tensor, that is the custom (or rather proprietary) processor of the company. This processor is destined to be talked about and ea make everyone tremble. We explain why.

Google Tensor will be the processor of Pixel 6 and 6 Pro: its future is bright, so much so that companies like Samsung and Qualcomm are afraid of it

We have seen how Google, with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, has given Samsung a whammy guaranteeing more years of official support. Indeed, the Mountain View company has promised well 5 years of official support (system and security updates) e 4 years of OS updates. Basically the devices will come to an end of support in 2026. This has caused companies like Qualcomm to start shaking. As we reported months ago, it is not the individual telephony brands (Xiaomi, Oppo, vivo and company) a decide when and how many updates to send to their smartphone models.

Proof of what we're saying is the fact that Google has decided to give the new Pixel 6 and 6 Pro a full 5 years. This is because the processor is designed by her. It's not like other companies buying chipsets from Qualcomm or MediaTek (just to name two industry leaders). These, on the other hand, must "submit" to guidelines such that if Qualcomm or MediaTek do not grant "keys" to upgrade, updates are not guaranteed.

But why are Qualcomm and company shaking? Because the importance of having a smartphone supported for a long time is increasing. Especially at a time when the majority of users cannot / wants to spend a certain amount after only two years to change their smartphone. Google seems to have taken the bull by the horns, therefore, and to have aimed not only at the quality of the device itself but also at the quality of the service it offers.

pixel 6 will make qualcomm tremble thanks to its google tensor

But why was this possible? Why are Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro so special? Because the colossus could invest in the production of the SoC (which appears to be manufactured by Samsung anyway) and decide their own policy. To this we must add that the Google Tensor processor appears to be almost at the same level as Exynos 9855 and Snapdragon 888. So in addition to longevity, there will also be power.

In short, a choice that will undoubtedly benefit the Mountain View giant which has undoubtedly made one qualitative rather than quantitative choice. Where companies like Qualcomm produce processors on processors with the aim of selling new ones when the support of one ends, Google with Pixel 6 has decided to give a Valid alternative.

Of course, there is no talk of overly long support like what it has proposed Germany some time ago. The European country has thought of proposing a law for which the smartphones must be updated for up to 7 years. Excessive? Maybe yes, considering the speed with which processor manufacturers are introducing new chipsets.

Finally, we remind you that the two models will be presented to the public on October 19th and then we will know all about them officially. And maybe then we will know something about the Pixel Pass that we met a few days ago, the subscription plan to Google's premium services which also provides for the annual renewal of the phone.
