Under the hood beats a Kirin 990 5G processor, SoC made with a 7 nm production process, octacore A76 structure with maximum clock up to 2.86 GHz which is flanked by a Mali-G76 MP16 GPU and a double NPU. This leads to a boost in performance: + 23% in the CPU, + 36% in the GPU and an incredible + 460% for the NPU. As you can guess from the name of the chipset, we find support for 5G networks with 6-band Dual Mode, mentor on Honor 30 Pro + we also find the new WiFi 6+ standard, in addition to the third generation of Dual-frequency GPS.
To contain so much power, Honor has decided to equip the new terminals with a steam chamber dissipation system. As far as autonomy is concerned, this is entrusted to a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh capable of supporting the 40W SuperCharge recharge while on the Pro + model, we also find a 27W wireless charging, even reverse, via a compatible base.
For the base model, Honor 30, the processor is instead defined by the Kirin 985, also with a 7 nm production process, but Mali-G77 GPU. But the attention of the community is certainly concentrated on the photographic sector of the 30 series.
On Honor 30 Pro we have a triple configuration of 40 + 8 + 16 MP f/1.9-3.4-2.2, whose primary sensor is the Sony IMX600 with RYYB pixel structure up to 2.0 µm and 1 / 1.7 ″ size. A 17 mm wide-angle lens is a must, accompanied by a periscopial telephoto lens with dual structure OIS. It is a 5x optical, 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom. On Honor 30 Pro + the configuration is 50 + 8 + 16 MP whose primary sensor in this case is a Sony IMX700 always RYYB, 1 / 1.28 ″ large and capable of producing photos at 2.44 µm.
The photographic suite is completed by the presence of an Octa PDAF focus, as well as the AI RAW function to blend lossless frames and thus improve detail, noise and dynamic range. Possibility to record slow motion at 1920 fps and videos in 4K at 60 fps.
