A well-known Chinese leakster has just said that Honor is working on its first foldable smartphone, which would be codenamed Magic X and should be out by the end of the year.
Honor Magic X: the first foldable of the brand arriving by the end of the year
According to the leakster, the foldable Honor Magic X will be similar to the Mate X2 in terms of design. He also revealed that Honor's foldable is expected to offer some different new features on the Magic X, but he didn't mention which ones.
Recall that Ross Young previously said that Honor's first folding smartphone will be equipped with folding panels provided by BOE and Visionox. Other reports have stated that it will feature an 8-inch internal foldable display and a 6,5-inch cover display.
The same had also stated that Huawei is working on a clamshell device called the Mate V that features a foldable screen. This could become official in the fourth quarter of this year and could come with prices below 10000 Yuan, on 1300 euros.
Recall that Honor is now the third largest smartphone brand in China. Honor CEO George Zhao had recently stated that he will aim to gain popularity in the high-end market, as the foldable future will be.
