It has been spoken in a low voice for many days: Honor it could be sold to the competition. A move that in reality, although it might seem like a victory only for investors, would also be useful for the company itself. Let's briefly review the history of the brand, focusing on the last period in which Huawei, the parent company, began to suffer due to the ban imposed by the old US President Trump. As we know, the brand is a rib of the much larger Chinese giant Huawei accused in recent times by the previous American administration of espionage and sale of American sensitive data to China. It is not our duty to go into this matter, especially if we are talking about the laws and jurisdiction of different states. What interests us is the move that now seems to be made official: the sale of the sub brand to third parties.
Honor seems to be sold: the rib brand of Huawei is no longer his and is about to be bought by other phone brands. What is his future?
As reported by Diankeji, a well-known Chinese newspaper engaged on the technological front, Honor has already been sold to third parties. To buy the majority of the shares of the Chinese company that was owned by Huawei was one joint venture consisting of several major telephone distributors in China: Putin, Tianyin, China Post, Aishide as well as from a well-known investment company called Shenzhen SASAC.
At the moment the news is yet to be formalized. In fact, neither Huawei nor the company concerned have released information about it. What is certain is that after the American ban, Honor could benefit from the purchase: it would in fact find itself released from the obligations imposed by the United States since it would no longer be part (to all intents and purposes) of the Chinese parent giant. Consequently, it would be able to produce devices dedicated to the Western market again, albeit perhaps using another name.
