After seeing what should be the next iQOO 8 at the ChinaJoy 2021 technology fair a few days ago. The Chinese brand today released an official confirmation through its Weibo account in which it states that the iQOO 8 series will be launched on August 17 in China.
iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro: the launch date of the two flagships confirmed
As we learned earlier, the iQOO 8 series could include two models, iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro. Some teasers suggest that the display, chipset and charging capabilities will be the highlights of the iQOO 8 series.
The iQOO 8 series will in fact be the first to feature Samsung's E5 AMOLED LTPO display which is expected to offer a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 2K + resolution and 10-bit colors. The smartphone presented at ChinaJoy revealed that it has a screen with a central hole and curved edges. It should also adopt with a larger in-display fingerprint scan area.
Previous leaks also suggest that the smartphone (caught with model number Vivo V2141A) approved by the Chinese authority TENAA could be one of the smartphones of the iQOO 8 series. The device was caught with a Snapdragon 888+ chipset on board, along with up to to 12 GB of RAM (4 GB of virtual RAM) and up to 256 GB of internal memory. The smartphone will come with the OriginOS 1.0 operating system based on Android 11.
Finally, the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro could support 160W or at least 120W Flash Charge technology.
