Langfeite L8S Review - A monster of fun
There are “cool” electric scooters, then there's him: the Langfeit L8S. In fact, that it is a very "macho" scooter is immediately understood since rude design but captivating: angular, solid and with many visible bolts.

The reals muscles of the Langfeite L8S they are not the ones in sight but those hidden in the wheels each pushed by an 800W brushless motor for one overall total of 1600W. A lot of power that guarantees burning starts and the possibility of climbing climbs up to 35% incline. The climb in my house has a gradient of 28% and I can do it at minimum power (Gear 1) with the double engine active.
La power can be modulated either by activating a single motor (the rear one) or both, but also by choosing one of the three modes (GEAR): 1 low, 2 medium, 3 high.
Traveling with the double engine at gear 3, the Langfeite L8S offers great emotions. The departure pulls you off like a skylift and almost instantly takes you to 30km / h. From there to reach the maximum speed of 45km / h it only takes a few seconds and you find yourself flying.
Driving is always comfortable thanks to the good warning system. At the front there are 4 vertical springs, not excellent but they do their job. While on the rear we find a single large shock absorber that supports the tilting fork that gives a very fun "elastic" effect in off-road sessions. Up aliexpress it is possible to find compatible hydraulic solutions that have a better performance.
Le sizes are abundant even when closed (114x22x44 cm) and together with its weight of 28kg, the Langfeite LOS immediately denotes a poor propensity for portability. If you have a small elevator or if you don't have one at all, take this into account.
On the other hand, the generous dimensions they offer a large support platform 53 × 22,5cm that allows you to position yourself even with parallel feet or place a bag. The maximum load declared is 150kg.
In any case theclosing operation it is very simple and controlled by a single lever placed on the platform. The handlebar rod, which is adjustable in 3 heights and closable, helps us to limit the size when closed.
Much of the weight is due tohuge 20A battery which guarantees a great autonomy but also a very long recharge that can last up to 10 hours for a full recharge. The house declares a maximum mileage of 60km on the plain, with a 75kg driver and quiet use (one engine only). In truth there are too many factors that can come into play and in my tests in which I did not spare myself to use the double engine, doing climbs, stunts and off-road, the autonomy was in any case more than 30km.
I tyres they are of the 10 ″ tubeless type. Those supplied by the factory have a not excessively tessellated design that is well suited to both the road and the dirt road. However, they are standard tires that can be replaced with others more suited to your needs.
The dashboard consists of two brake levers, one for each wheel, which operate the mechanical grippers of the two 14mm disc brakes. Even the EBS (electronic brake) is activated by these, always obtaining very incisive braking whose limit is only the grip of the tires. Personally I preferred to deactivate the EBS to have more control over braking and to make more use of the free wheels when going downhill.
Una third lever on the right controls acceleration. This solution guarantees good sensitivity and modulation which are very useful given the power delivered. Also on the right there is a button that allows the switching from single to double motor which allows to double the traction, the power, but obviously also the consumption.
On the left we find the buttons for the horn and for switching on the led headlight which is positioned above the wheel, very powerful and effective in the evening.
Il on-board computer it is quite visible under the light and allows you to always view the current speed, the battery charge status and the selected gear (from 1 to 3). A further line of the display allows you to alternate the time elapsed since the last ignition, the distance traveled since the last ignition, the total distance traveled (odometer) and the current battery volts.
Curious even more than useful is the USB port placed under the on-board computer, which allows you to recharge your phone or other devices in the event of an emergency.
Conclusions
The Langfeite L8S is part of an intermediate range among the new generation scooters and has the great advantage of being an upgrade in all components without straying too far from the "psychological threshold" of € 600.
Certainly it is not an easy scooter to transport and this is a limit that you will soon face if you do not take into account your needs.
Powerful, agile and with great autonomy - gives a lot of fun whether it is used for leisure or as a means of locomotion. Regardless of the climb and your weight, the Langfeite will take you everywhere.
Only two things I didn't like. There charging takes a long time and it would have been appropriate to adopt a second socket to use two magazines simultaneously as happens in other models. The foldable handlebar it is certainly comfortable (it only goes into my trunk if I close it) but it vibrates and does not transmit the sensation of solidity present in the rest of the scooter. Fortunately, with a little DIY it is possible to replace it with that of mountain bikes.
Langfeite L8S - Secret menu
By pressing the two Power and M buttons at the same time, you access a secret menu that allows you to change the technical parameters. Then holding down Power or M di enters edit mode. Always with Ignition and M the values are changed.
- P00: Setting of the wheel diameter, to be left unchanged at 10 ″ to allow a precise calculation of speed and distance.
- P01: Setting the minimum battery voltage, by default it is 41.5, do not go below and maybe increase it by 1 or 2 numbers to better preserve the recharge cycles.
- P02: Setting of the number of motor poles. Do not modify.
