Earlier today, Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo's mobile phone sales department in China, revealed on Weibo, during an interaction with his followers, that Lenovo will release its flagship smartphone before New Year's Eve of 2022.
Lenovo will launch flagships with Snapdragon 895 later this year
Chen Jin revealed that the new Lenovo smartphone equipped with Qualcomm's flagship SM8450 processor will be released in the winter, which means that we will be able to see the first batch of devices equipped with Qualcomm's SM8450 processor before New Year's Eve. It will therefore most likely be the first smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450 launched in China.
At the moment, there are few details on the Qualcomm SM8450 processor. It is reported that this chip could be called Snapdragon 895 or Snapdragon 898 (hereinafter referred to as Snapdragon 895).
According to information leaked online earlier, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895 CPU is based on the new Cortex-V9 Kryo 780 GPU and the GPU is integrated an Adreno 730. Compared to the parameters of the Snapdragon 888, the SM8450 theoretically has a noticeable performance improvement, becoming once again the most performing chip, at least as regards smartphones with the Android operating system.
This chip should officially debut in December 2021. As usual, it would not surprise us if Xiaomi also used it with its next Mi 11, following in the footsteps of the Mi 11.
