LG presents the robot that wins the coronavirus in 15 minutes

We have seen robot vacuum cleaner, then evolved into robot washes everything. But those who fight viruses? Maybe the title is a bit exaggerated but LG he truly created a automatic robot that promises to kill in poco time the most harmful viruses in the environment. Before seeing it, however, it is necessary to point out that the company has not at all claimed that the device kills the coronavirus. Having said that, let's see what the Korean company has come up with, what they are features and especially when it will be officialized and sold.

LG presents its new robot from the CLOi family that promises to fight the most harmful viruses from liveable areas of the home and beyond

By combining their expertise in robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles with a deep understanding of customer needs, LG Electronics announced it is developing a autonomous robot which will use UVC rays to disinfect various more or less busy areas. For those not accustomed to this type of rays, you should know that they do not kill viruses from a distance, but within one spectrum of 100-280 nm. This means that the robot of the family CLOi does not behave like a UVC beamer.

This autonomous UV robot comes at a time when hygiene is the top priority for hotel guests, students and restaurant customers. Consumers can rest assured that the LG UV robot will help reduce their exposure to potentially harmful germs

Roh Kyu-chan, head of LG Electronics' robot business division

The robot should allow a new standard of hygiene helping to disinfect high-contact and high-traffic areas. Thanks to its autonomous design, the robot will be able to move easily around tables, chairs and other furniture, generally irradiating the touchable surfaces of a room in 15-30 minutes. The brand claims that with a single charge (relative to the size of the room of course) the robot will do a complete cleaning cycle.

Yes, but how is it checked?

LG's robot is designed to be easy to use. Housekeepers, waiters or housekeeping staff can control it via app and then via smartphone. Progress can be monitored via remote updates in real time on mobile or tablet. Lhuman exposure to UV rays will be minimized thanks to an integrated safety lock activated by motion detection sensors, which will be activated within one radius of 5 meters away.
