Love In Shanghai is the first 8K TV series

Technology has progressed by leaps and bounds and has recently introduced us to the joy of televisions with 8K panels, but these have had little success as the content available in this definition is scarce, despite the fact that 8K technology has already been available for some time. Hence, to boost sales, the first fully recorded TV series in 8K was filmed in China.

Its name is Love in Shanghai and it is a TV series based on the novel by Yifei, directed by Meng Ji and the actors Guo Jingfei and Wang Loudan. The television adaptation of this series dates back as far as 2011 and the 8K technology allows viewing at very high resolution, dominated by vivid and sharp colors.

The series tells a love story of two young people whose careers and lives are linked to the development of the city. According to producer Yu Jie, this is also a story about Shanghai. Accessories, costumes and makeup have been carefully chosen to represent the past decades. In addition, there are many influential events such as Shanghai World Expo 2010 and the city's fight against coronavirus.

Love In Shanghai is the first 8K TV series

A decidedly intense series that will keep all viewers in suspense who will benefit from 8K technology, which offers a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels, for a total of 33 million pixels. Simply put, the number of pixels is four times higher than 4K resolution and 16 times higher than the current Full HD 1080p main resolution.

At the moment there are few TVs that offer this technology, but the TV series Love in Shanghai concretizes a first step towards the development and expansion of the 8K, considering that we even have smartphones on the market that can record in this resolution.
