MediaTek Dimension 9000+ is the new super processor for smartphones that the Taiwanese company has presented poco does. As we said the other day, he will be the direct competitor of Qualcomm's top-of-the-range processor, that is Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. Not even the time to come out of the closet that the first benchmark results appear. As you will have understood, the MediaTek SoC has surpassed not poco that Qualcomm confirming himself as a performance champion. Let's see the data.
Just presented, MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ proves better than Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on Geekbench. Here is the benchmark data
MediaTek has just introduced an improved version of the flagship processor Dimensity 9000, and the first results of its benchmark tests have already appeared on the network. The numbers turned out to be very promising, against the backdrop of the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In the benchmark Geekbench 5 disclosed by Digital Chat Station, the new MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ (on Android 12 based smartphone) got 1322 points
But if the performance when using a single core is almost the same as that of the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, when using all cores, the advantage in favor of MediaTek is considerably greater. Interestingly, both the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 rely on the same process TSMC at 4 nm. Additionally, they use the same configuration with a 2 GHz Cortex-X3.2 super-core, two powerful cores and four energy-efficient cores.
The main difference lies in the different graphics accelerators: ARM Mali-G710 MC10 for Dimensity 9000+ e Adreno 730 on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Interestingly, in both cases, a 10% increase in GPU performance is claimed over the base versions. However, we have to wait for the devices to be released on both processors and tests in real use cases.
