MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is official: the most advanced mobile chip in the world

Last month we have talked di MediaTek Dimensity 9200, the Taiwanese company's next-generation smartphone processor. Today it was presented and looks to all intents and purposes as the mobile processor most powerful and advanced in the world. In fact, from its side, it can count in addition to a whole series of important hardware features also to ray-tracing technology. But let's go see every detail together.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is the most powerful smartphone chip in the world, other than Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Here are all the details of the SoC

MediaTek presented the new flagship processor Dimensity 9200. It has received support for the new Wi-Fi 7 standard, LPDDR5X RAM and is compatible with the hardware-level ray tracing technology. Compared to the Dimensity 9000, a significant increase in performance and energy efficiency is declared. It is worth noting that this is the first mobile platform based on ARMv9 Gen 2 architecture.

The CPU includes a super-core Cortex-X3 (3,05 GHz), three high-performance Cortex-A715s (2,85 GHz) and four energy-efficient Cortex A510s (1,8 GHz). Compared to the Dimensity 9000, it demonstrates a 10-12% increase in computing power with a 25% reduction in energy consumption. The graphics subsystem is represented by an ARM Immortalis-G715 chip with hardware support for ray tracing. This GPU is 32% faster and 41% more efficient from an energy point of view compared to that used in Dimensity 9000. The chipset scores over 1.260.000 points in AnTuTu. The new chip supports the standard 7 WiFi, which allows you to transfer data at speeds up to 6,5 Gb / s. It can also work with UFS 4.0 drives, LPDDR5X RAM (up to 8,5 Gb / s) and is capable of playing 24-bit / 192 kHz quality sound.

The Dimensity 9200 also includes the latest Imagiq 890 signal processor for support RGBW sensors. While performing machine learning tasks, performance increased by up to 98% reducing power consumption by 15% compared to the predecessor. There is no lack of support for displays with Full HD + resolution at 240 Hz, Quad HD + at 144Hz and 5K at 60Hz. The first Dimensity 9200-based devices will appear later this year. Plans to use the new chip have already been announced by live.
