Meizu 17 and 17 Pro can update their GPU drivers: here's how

Qualcomm and Google boast of a historic collaboration not only in terms of processors sold to the second company by the first, but also in terms of support. In particular, we refer to the possibility given to users of update your smartphone's GPU drivers via Play Store. This is a novelty that allows all those users interested in the videogame field to always keep the operating system fresh without the need to proceed with a complete firmware update. Through a graphics profiling tool called GPU Driver Updater it will therefore be possible to update the drivers of the video card integrated in a smartphone. Until today only Xiaomi, Oppo e iQOO they were able to do it but now it also adds up Meizu with the Meizu 17 and 17 Pro.

Clearly this is a procedure possible only on these two devices which, at the moment, are not officially available in Europe. Despite this, however, many have decided to purchase the device in China version to prove it. They will be able to benefit from the improved performances on Meizu 17 and 17 Pro. However, it is a "closed beta features”And therefore only a limited number of users (1500 for the standard version and 1500 for the Pro) can try it. But how to do it?

  • you have to activate the developer options of our Meizu 17 by going to Settings and tapping 8 times on System version;
  • at this point we need to go up Developer options and subsequently on Game Driver Preferences;
  • now enable the option of the same name for all applications: this will update the driver to version V0474.

What are the benefits? From a graphic point of view, in concrete terms, we will see aoptimization of OpenCL EL and Vulkan, as well as one greater stability of Collapse 3, PUBG, Fortnite games and all the heavier ones.

It should be remembered that Meizu is there fourth company in the world to be able to take advantage of this feature on their top-of-the-range smartphones.
