Android 13 and OxygenOS 13 arrive for the OnePlus 8 series: from now on, goodbye updates

OnePlus announced that it has started rolling out the stable Android 13 update to its flagship smartphones in the series OnePlus 8 released in 2020. According to the company's schedule, this will be the last big update for them. In fact, making a quick calculation, they are 3 major updates (hence the operating system updates) that the devices have received. But having said that, let's see the details of this update.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro update to Android 13. This will be the last major release for the brand's smartphones. After that, only modding will save us

The update to Android 13 also includes the new OxygenOS 13 user interface with a so-called design aquamorph. The company has redesigned many graphics, animations, the notification center and the quick settings menu. An increase in the fluidity and response speed of the interface is declared. Applications and standard widgets have been updated and now you can add large folders to your desktop. The full list of changes can be read on the official site (link in the introduction).

At the time of writing, the update is only available for versions Indiana (IN) e (NA) of smartphones, but European device owners are still waiting. Therefore, now the firmware will be distributed to the following models: OnePlus 8 (IN2011 and IN2015), OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2021 and IN2025) e OnePlus 8T (KB2001 and KB2005).

For 8 and 8 Pro, this is already the third, and therefore the latest operating system update, but will still receive new security patches throughout the year. But with the model OnePlus 8T the situation is not clear, since this is only the second major update for this device, so it is likely that it will also receive Android 14. Previously, the stable version of Android 13 was already released for 9, 9 Pro, 9R and 9RT and 10 Pro. Interestingly, the owners of the brand new OnePlus 10T have not yet received this update (only available in beta version).
