OnePlus 8 vs OnePlus 8T vs OnePlus 8 Pro: mega series comparison

The series of new smartphones from OnePlus. No other devices will be launched: as the brand itself revealed there will be none OnePlus 8T Pro. Having said that, it seemed only right to make a mega comparison between all the devices of the new series to help users choose which smartphone to buy. Although the differences between the three smartphones are minimal, there are some details to take into consideration. Let's see the OnePlus 8 series how is the difference between model and model

OnePlus 8 series weight and dimensions

  • OnePlus 8: 160.2 x 72.9 x 8.0 mm for 180 g;
  • OnePlus 8T: 160.7 x 74.1 x 8.4 mm for 188 g;
  • OnePlus 8 Pro: 165.3 x 74.35 x 8.5 mm for 199 g.

Leaving aside the specifications that we will see later, the version standard turns out to be the lightest and most compact. In terms of measures, the difference is very little seen and heard; in terms of weight between the Pro and the standard there are 20 g of difference they feel.

Display

  • OnePlus 8: 6.55 ″ AMOLED type with resolution 2.400 x 1.080 (20: 9) and refresh rate at 90Hz;
  • OnePlus 8T: 6.55 ″ AMOLED type with resolution 2.400 x 1.080 (20: 9) and refresh rate at 120Hz;
  • OnePlus 8 Pro: 6.78 ″ AMOLED type with 3.168 x 1.440 resolution (19.8: 9) and 120Hz refresh rate.

Here the main differences lie in the refresh rate (between standard and the other two), panel size (between Pro and the other two) e resolution (always between Pro and the other two models). If we look at the numbers, the Pro variant turns out to be the best ever with a higher resolution and a larger screen.

Processor

oneplus 8 series with snapdragon 865

There is poco to say: it is the Snapdragon 865 on all three models. It is the currently top-of-the-range processor from the US company Qualcomm and is a 64-bit octa-core (1 x Kryo 585 at 2.84GHz + 3 x Kryo 585 at 2.42GHz + 4 x Kryo 585 at 1.8GHz) supported by a Adreno GPU 650.

RAM and internal storage

  • OnePlus 8: RAM 8 GB / 12 GB LPDDR4X and 128 GB / 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage;
  • OnePlus 8T: RAM 8 GB / 12 GB LPDDR4X and 128 GB / 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage;
  • OnePlus 8 Pro: 8 GB / 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage;

The amount of RAM and storage is the same on each device. The difference is only in the type: while the version Pro is the only one to be equipped with fast LPDDR5 memory, the version 8T is the only one to have UFS 3.1 type storage.

Rear cameras

oneplus 8 cameras comparison
  • OnePlus 8:

main sensor: 48 megapixel with f / 1.78 aperture and 0.8 µm pixel size, OIS, EIS;

ultrawide: 16 megapixel with f / 2.2 aperture and 116 ° FoV field of view;

macro: 2 megapixel with f / 2.4 aperture and 1.75 µm pixel size.

  • OnePlus 8T:

main sensor: 48 megapixel with f / 1.78 aperture and 0.8 µm pixel size, OIS, EIS;

ultrawide: 16 megapixel with f / 2.2 aperture and 123 ° field of view;

macro: 5 megapixel with f / 2.4 aperture;

monochrome: 2 megapixels with f / 2.4 aperture.

  • OnePlus 8 Pro:

main sensor: 48 megapixel with f / 1.78 aperture and 1.12 µm pixel size, OIS, EIS;

telephoto: 8 megapixel telephoto pixels with f / 2.44 aperture and 1.0 µm pixel size, OIS;

ultrawide: 48 megapixel with f / 2.2 aperture and 120 ° field of view;

color filter: 5 megapixels with f / 2.4 aperture.

Here the differences are several starting from the total number of sensors. The version standard has 3 sensors instead of 4 (instead present on the other two variants). They change the number of megapixels and field of view of ultrawide sensors. Fortunately, all are equipped with optical stabilization. However, the macro is missing in the Pro variant.

OnePlus 8 series front camera

They all have one single 16 megapixel punch hole: the Pro and 8T variants with f / 2.4 aperture and 1.0 µm pixel size, while the standard version has an f / 2.0 aperture but always the same pixel size. All equipped with EIS.

Charging and battery OnePlus 8 series

warp charge
  • OnePlus 8: 4,300 mAh with Warp Charge 30T (5V / 6A);
  • OnePlus 8T: 4,500 mAh with Warp Charge 65 (10V / 6.5A)
  • OnePlus 8 Pro: 4,510 mAh with Warp Charge 30T (5V / 6A) and Warp Charge 30 Wireless

Unlike the version 8T that counts on double charging power compared to the other two variants, the Pro model is the only one equipped with wireless charging. The capacity of the cells is roughly the same, poco smaller.
