DxOMark has from poco tested the audio of the standard version of the latest OnePlus flagship and today, a few days later, the OnePlus 9 Pro review. The device, as with the previous model, is good from an audio point of view though fails to reach the top 10 of the flagship ranking. So let's see what are the black and white areas of the device according to industry experts.
OnePlus 9 Pro is tested by DxOMark: audio is the protagonist. Better than the standard version, but not excellent in all areas
The laboratory experts DxOMark they tested the acoustics of the flagship OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone. They liked both the capabilities of the built-in speakers and the microphone system for recording audio and delivered their verdict. While playing various content, OnePlus 9 Pro demonstrated a good headroom across the entire frequency range. The device's built-in speaker system is capable of playing music with a precise attack and even at minimal volume values. According to experts, the smartphone is suitable for playing games and watching movies.
Among shortages which were detected during music playback tests, the lab noted a too strong predominance of high and low frequencies at maximum volume values with a lack of mid frequency range. Furthermore, the sound, according to DxOMark, "lacks elasticity". While recording audio, the gadget kept the timbre of the sound source and also correctly calculated the signal-to-noise ratio. When creating the videos, the soundtrack had a lot of leeway.
However, the sound during the Selfie video recording left a lot to be desired due to the too pronounced midrange. The volume level is also lacking in this mode: the sound is too low. In addition, the experts noted that in almost all recording conditions, the OnePlus 9 Pro cuts the low and high frequencies. In the DxOMark ranking, the smartphone has conquered the 20th place in the general classification with a score of 69 points, on par with ASUS ROG Phone 2 and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.
