Yesterday OnePlus released the OxygenOS for the North in Open Beta 2 version, within which he brought theapp Camera to build 6.4.23. Through a teardown of this application the XDA developers they were able to find what will be the novelties in the photographic field that the company will introduce in the future. It is not certain that these will be introduced immediately with the next flagship, but it is certain that at a given moment everyone (more or less) will be able to enjoy the news. Tilt-shift mode
One of the features mentioned within the lines of code is the "Tilt-shift". This particular mode refers to the photographic technique that allows you to reduce some details in our shots to miniatures. In the photos below we see how the interface will look like with a small preview. You can see how the buildings and the cars are smaller than normal.
Starburst mode
THEstarburst effect it is what we see when we aim the camera lens at a powerful light source, such as the sun. What we see is one star-shaped spring in a sense. It looks like OnePlus's camera app will offer the option to capture photos with this effect. The camera app will likely choose an optimal aperture that is small enough to achieve the effect but also large enough to maximize the overall sharpness of the image.
Moon mode
A mode that is going out of fashion, especially now that it is out Samsung Galaxy S21. Considering that OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will not be equipped with a periscope lens, at least the company seems to be studying to capture better night photos. We do not know if it is a mode that allows a greater zoom than what has been proposed up to now. The only sure thing is that it will offer one selection of different filters to adjust the color of the moon.
Hyperlapse
A known feature poco until now, but that undoubtedly has to do with focus. According to the guys from XDA this mode will allow you to focus more points.
Will OnePlus focus on the camera a lot?
From what we have understood, there is no doubt that thePete Lau's company is focusing a lot on the photographic sector. Not so much on the choice of sensors, which can be more or less original, as on the implementation of features. In a sense, if the comparison holds up, the steps that OnePlus does is doing are those of Xiaomi: improve the features since with the "base" algorithm we are not at an acceptable level. In any case, turn around, the choice will always fall on Google Camera.
