OnePlus does not look anyone in the face: here is the smartphone with a rotating camera

When it comes to patents, OnePlus it is certainly not the first company that comes to mind. Sure, she has some too very special ideas that could bring innovation and a breath of fresh air to the mobile sector, but it will never reach the level of its sister Oppo. Anyhow LetsGoDigital brings us today a patent that could change the fate of cameraphones: the Chinese company is in fact thinking of one smartphone with rotating camera, but not as you think. Let's see the details.

OnePlus is thinking of revolutionizing the cameraphone sector with a smartphone with a rotating camera integrated into the body: top or flop?

The patent in question speaks and shows of a OnePlus smartphone with one large camera on the back. It is a rotating camera that allows the user to take photos and video recordings with a unique viewing angle. To better visualize the patented technology, the graph Parvez Khan, Alias Technizo Concept, made a series of renderings. The 3D images are made on the basis of OnePlus patent documentation.

The operation of the OnePlus rotating camera

The camera rotates around its own axis, so that it does not protrude further from the housing when rotating. Several magnets are used, which ensure that the system of the camera can rotate 180 °. This leads to the use of new options by the user. The 180 ° rotation of the camera allows the user to easily change the composition for shoot from difficult angles, without the photographer having to assume uncomfortable positions. The idea seems to come from cameras mirrorless with tilting screen.

In addition to a rotating shooting mode, this unique OnePlus smartphone is also equipped with a normal shooting mode. In standard mode, the camera module will be able to oscillate in the axial direction, acting as an anti-vibration system to prevent unwanted camera shake. It appears to be an image stabilization system similar to Apple's sensor shift OIS, which debuted with the iPhone 12 Pro Max and is also found in the new iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.

Hard to say when this technology will debut, but we think it may come with OnePlus 11 e OnePlus 11 Pro.
