OnePlus TV: designed a model with a pop-up camera… different

Le OnePlus TV are coming to Europe and this we already know or know. The company has officially confirmed that televisions sooner or later, but in any case this year, will also arrive in our market. While we wait to understand which TV the brand will bring us (or which models, given that it has more than one in its catalog), we see the patent of a new smart TV which was brought to us in color by the theme of LetsGoDigital. This new OnePlus TV features a camera really very special: removable and rotating.

OnePlus thinks of a very special OnePlus TV: the company adds a rotation mechanism to the existing pop-up camera

It was recently announced that one is in the works OnePlus webcam, which will be compatible with the brand's existing smart TVs. In the background, however, the manufacturer also appears to be working on one TV with an integrated camera module. Basically it will join the camera to a panel. But how? In this patent we understand how the next OnePlus TV will take a big step forward. The patents of smartphones have already shown us this mechanism but it is the first time that we "see" it on a television.

On September 29, 2020, OnePlus filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). The 19-page documentation entitled "Camera and Electronic Device Module" was released on April 15, 2021. A OnePlus TV is described with a centrally located pop-up camera. When the camera is activated, it automatically slides out of the body. So far no difference to existing TV models with an extendable camera. However, such a camera has a limited range, so the user has to sit in front of the TV to get a good picture.

OnePlus has come up with a solution: rotate it. In fact, the head can rotate (not 360 °) allowing the photographic sensor to shoot all corners of the room where the TV is placed. According to the data provided, this camera can also recognize users' faces.
