A few days ago we talked about a hypothetical OPPO A72 5G that according to a leakster would be ready for launch in China. Well, today that same device would have been caught on the famous GeekBench benchmarking platform.
OPPO A72 5G caught on GeekBench with MediaTek MT6853
As we can see in the screenshot above, the OPPO A72 5G has been tested on GeekBench with the model name "PDYM20". From the benchmark page we find that the smartphone will arrive with Android 10 as an operating system, coupled with 8 GB of RAM, although two other RAM options should most likely be available: 4 GB and 6 GB.
Still from the benchmark we can see that the device is powered by MediaTek's MT6853 chip, with a base frequency of 2,0 GHz. According to Chinese media, the MT6853 would be the SoC Dimensity 720 not yet presented by MediaTek but that is already was briefly mentioned on the company's official website.
As for the design, the smartphone should adopt a screen with a hole in the upper left for the front camera. While on the back we find a square-shaped camera module with three cameras and an LED flash inside. The general dimensions are instead of 163.2 × 75.1 for a thickness of 7.9mm and a weight of 178g. As in many other mid-range devices, we will also find a side fingerprint sensor.
The other specifications should include a 6,5-inch diagonal LCD screen with a resolution of 2400 * 1080 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. We also have a battery capacity of 4040 mAh and support for a wired fast charge with a maximum power of 18W. For cameras, we should have a resolution of 16 MP for the main, 8 MP for the secondary (probably ultra wide) and a 2MP depth sensor. In front we will find instead an 8 MP camera to take selfies.
Finally, on the OPPO A72 5G we should find a 3.945 mAh or 4.040 mAh battery with support for fast charging at a maximum power of 18W.
While from a price point of view, three memory configurations should arrive: 4 GB / 128 GB, 6 GB / 128 GB and 8 GB / 128 GB which are said to be priced at 1.699 CNY (€ 210), CNY 1.799 (€ 225) and CNY 1.999 (€ 250), respectively.
