We had already given you some anticipation on the new mid-range of OPPO, the A8 and A91 models and finally the company made the well-deserved presentation to the vast audience of the brand's loyal ones. Oppo A8 is an inexpensive smartphone, which focuses entirely on memory and battery but also on a generously sized display. In China OPPO A8 was launched at an attractive price of 1199 yuan, equal to about 154 euros at the current exchange rate, but let's find out better in detail.
OPPO A8 - Specifications and features
OPPO A8 offers a polycarbonate backcover in two colors (black and light blue) that wraps around a 6,5-inch IPS-type display with drop notch, this reduced by 31,4% compared to the previous generation. The resolution is 720 x 1600 pixels, or HD +, but can offer dedicated features such as the eye protection mode that can filter out harmful blue light. The display ratio of OPPO A8 is 89% while the form factor is 20: 9. The thickness of the phone is only 8,3 mm for a weight of 180 grams.
Moving on to the flab, on the OPPO home terminal we find an octacore MediaTek Helio P35 chipset which is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM, while the GB is not missing for the storage of files and applications that on OPPO A8 are well 128, expandable up to to 256 GB via micro SD without having to give up the Dual SIM Dual Standby functionality. Operating system entrusted to Android 9 Pie based on ColorOS 6.1.
As said before, one of the strengths of this device is the battery, a 4230 mAh unit that promises 14 hours of watching online video and 7 hours of online gaming. On the photographic level instead we find an 8 MP selfie camera while on the rear there are 3 sensors housed that are made up of a 12 MP main lens, one dedicated to data collection for the 2 MP bokeh effect and finally the third used to 2 MP Macro photos. Finally OPPO A8 is equipped with Dual SIM connectivity, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and 3,5 mm audio jack, as well as fingerprint sensor on the back and Dirac sound effects according to the mode listening (games, music and videos).
OPPO A8 - Price and release date
The OPPO A8 was presented in China with a price of 1199 Yuan (about € 154). Azure and Secret Night Black are the two color options available. Chinese users interested in purchasing can now register on the official website of the Asian brand to win the first units, while the official sale has been set for December 26th. For the international market at the moment it is not possible to know if and when it will be marketed.
