OPPO has just announced from its official account on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) that a new product will be released at the Future Technology Conference on the 17th, it is the OPPO AR Glasses.
OPPO AR Glasses: Confirmed arrival for November 17
In the press release OPPO said:
“A richer method of interaction? A more comfortable wearing experience? Sitting on the sofa can you enjoy the immersion of a large 90-inch screen 3 meters away?
OPPO # November 17, Shenzhen, China, the second generation of OPPO AR glasses is waiting for you! "
As some of you may know, the new OPPO AR Glasses product line was launched last year. Together the AR Glasses had also been announced other products at the OPPO Future Technology Conference including the OPPO smartwatches, 5G CPE, etc., but to date the OPPO AR Glasses are the only ones who have not yet seen the light of the sun.
This delay is most likely due to the fact that it is a niche technology that has not yet seen a mass application that makes them truly useful. Now the Chinese smartphone manufacturer finally seems ready to bring them to the market, hopefully with features that make them a must have, at least in some work or study sectors.
As for the entertainment side, VR, or Virtual Reality, still seems to be the most fashionable, also thanks to companies such as Facebook and Oculus who have brought very performing devices at affordable prices.
