In a new official release, OPPO has just announced the start of its collaboration with the China Audio Industry Association and several of the major audio companies to launch the “Audio Quality Society” (AQS).

According to the brand, the AQS brings together device suppliers, companies from across the headset supply chain, as well as audio chip manufacturers and testing institutes. The first board of directors will consist of - in alphabetical order - Bestechnic, China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), Edifier, HiBy, HiVi, HIFIMAN, Knowles, MediaTek, Savitech, Xiaomi and vivo.
Additionally, as OPPO is one of the first founders of AQS and as a partner making its technology available, the company will act as a permanent member of the board of directors.
Liu Jia, OPPO's head of audio business, said:
We hope that, thanks to AQS, we will be able to build a platform for communication and cooperation between market players.
We will work with our partners to jointly develop and promote stricter testing and verification standards, as well as lead the development of the innovation-driven high-definition audio ecosystem
The AQS technical standards will focus on six main areas, including the electroacoustic communication standard which will ensure the quality of voice calls through True Wirelss Stereo (TWS) headsets; standard for LHDC (Low-Latency Hi-Definition Audio Codec) music sound effects and will have stricter requirements on ambient noise reduction and Bluetooth connection performance, enabling low-latency transmission.
Clearly these standards will then be adopted on all OPPO products, be it smartphones, headphones or speakers for uncompromising audio quality.
