Oppo Find X2 will use a Sony sensor tailored for Oppo

The leaks and speculations regarding the Oppo Find X2 are increasing more and more, which suggests an imminent launch. As if that wasn't enough, Oppo's vice president, Shen Yiren, has also made it clear recently that the smartphone will debut in February.

Shen Yiren then shared some rather interesting info on the famous Chinese social network Weibo. The vice president has in fact revealed that the Find X2 will adopt a very special camera created specifically for the next top of the range.

In the specs, Yiren said that the sensor used was developed by Sony and will be the first in the world with a new focusing technology called "Omnidirectional Focusing". This sensor will then have a resolution of 48MP, therefore not among the highest (now it reaches 108MP), but will still have a size of well 1 / 1.33 inches. The combination of a large sensor and a non-exaggerated resolution results in larger pixels. In practice this means having better performance when taking photos in low light conditions as the sensor is able to capture more light.

So at least from the photographic point of view, the Oppo Find X2 will be one of the best camera phones that we will see in this 2020. As for the other specifications instead, the smartphone will adopt a curved screen on the sides with a pop-up camera instead of inside the screen (according to latest rumors). The display will have a size of 6,5 inches, 3168 x 1440 resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz, that is double the average of 60Hz for a smoother user experience.

We will also find the best performing processor on the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, accompanied by a Snapdragon X55 modem to add dual mode 5G connectivity; hence NSA and SA. Finally, the smartphone will be equipped with ultra-fast charging at least 65W. The Oppo Find X2 is expected to debut in late February, during the MWC 2020 in Barcelona.
