Just a couple of days ago we talked about color management and Oppo's proprietary system called Full Link. Although no details emerged about the device on which this new feature will be implemented, we hypothesized that the first to have it will be Oppo find x3 or at least a device of the homonymous series. Well, the reality will be just this: the brand itself announces it through official information that has just leaked from official channels. In addition to the characteristics of the screen, however, the Chinese giant has also leaked some other details, such as the launch period of the new device (complete series). Let's now see in detail why the next Find X screen will be better than all.
The Oppo Find X3 series in 2021 with end-to-end 10-bit color support: better than the Find X2 and probably all the other devices on the market
Let's first of all see the technical characteristics, or what will concretely integrate the Oppo Find X3 series on itself. Then we will draw our conclusions by seeing in pennies terms what will be the improvements compared to the current top of the range series. As revealed by the brand itself, the devices will arrive in 2021 with end-to-end 10-bit color support and WCG photography with Full Link color management system. But what is the WDC (Wide color gamut)? It is simply one wider range of colors that the display can tap into. The Find X2 operating system already supports the images with 10-bit depth but evidently the brand has "nativized" and improved the technology.
The company claims that its system is the first Android color management system to support the full DCI-P3 color gamut and 10-bit color depth in capture, storage and display. This will presumably provide an unmatched viewing experience with authentic and accurate color reproduction. The system was revealed to have been developed to support image acquisition HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format): Oppo recognizes that the future of displays will lie in this technology and points to the Sun. The result of the research carried out over several months is this: a end-to-end solution covering all steps, from image acquisition to computation, encoding, archiving, decoding and finally visualization, supporting a HEIF image with a high 10-bit color depth and awide range of colors DCI-P3 .
The display calibration procedure that the Oppo Find X3 will achieve, allows for professional, cinematic-level color accuracy at about 0,4 JNCD. This term indicates the barely perceptible difference in color that provides a "consistently accurate on-screen display". The company is joining forces with the Zhejiang University with the aim of finding the optimal solution for color correction. Experiments have been carried out on people with one color vision better than others.
Conclusions
There is poco to say. the series screen Find X3 will be the absolute best in terms of color rendering and performance. This will clearly result in a very high price, as it was for the current top-of-the-range Find X2 series. Let's just hope that together with cutting-edge technology the giant can also integrate a design that changes the cards on the table a little. We got tired of all the same devices.
