Oppo Reno 5 will have a Snapdragon 8XX processor and will be a flagship

We are all waiting and thrilling for the new Oppo Reno 4 which, according to the leaks, should arrive soon in Europe. We were a little disappointed by the policy of the brand that did not bring us the Rhine 3, therefore jumping from the Rhine 2 to the Rhine 4. It is true, in the middle we had the new ones almost simultaneously with China Oppo Find X2 Lite and Neo that have satisfied us well. But today we are talking about a smartphone still unpublished and which should arrive next year: Oppo Reno 5. Actually, we gave it this name while waiting to know if it really will be, but in any case we know the SoC that will mount.

Next year Oppo Reno 5 will mount a super performing SoC: it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8XX

According to a recent leak by Digital Chat Station, one of the best known on the square and among the most reliable, the next Oppo device belonging to the Reno series will be equipped with a processor Snapdragon of the 8 series. It is not at all a foregone conclusion considering that the last Rhine, here in Europe, will arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. We could therefore expect an heir belonging to the middle range and instead no, he will be a flagship no doubt.

Now if we consider that the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, nicknamed Lahaina, will be released in the last quarter of 2020 to be mounted on smartphones in the first of 2021, it is easy to imagine that it will be him. Basically if what we hypothesize is true Oppo Reno 5 will be a performance monster and will come closer, in terms of performances, to Reno 2 rather than to 3 or 4. Speaking of performance, compared to the current generation mounted on Oppo Find X2 Pro for example, the Snapdragon 875 will be around 30% more efficient and powerful. This will also be due to 5nm lithographic process which will ensure very low energy consumption.

On the cover photo a Rhine 4 is depicted.
