Oppo Reno Z is the first smartphone to receive the May 2020 Android security patches

When buying a new smartphone, a theme that is certainly close to the heart is that of updates by the brand as well as those related to the safety of the device through an injection of patches released by Google itself. Among the brands that are providing evidence of attention to this theme we find OPPO which recently provided for the release of an update relating to its glorious Reno Z, effectively updating the security patches in May 2020, even before the Google Pixel series smartphones .

Oppo Reno Z is in fact the first smartphone to receive the May 2020 patches, becoming the reference point for monthly updates on tech security. The update is already available in Italy and can be downloaded via OTA, which if you have not yet received it, you can try to force it by manually searching for the update through the appropriate section in the update menu.

Unfortunately, the version of the operating system remains unchanged, anchoring to Android 9.0 Pie. Furthermore, the changelog does not report any other mention to particular changes and / or additions, except for the security patches of May 2020. The international version of the firmware is the CPH1979EX_11_A.20 and will continue to reach the Oppo Reno Zs marketed on the Italian market.

We recall that OPPO Reno Z still represents a decidedly interesting mid-range smartphone thanks to features including a 6,4-inch AMOLED panel in Full HD + resolution, 4035 mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging up to 20 W, 128 GB of internal storage, 4 GB of RAM and MediaTek Helio P90 processor. Finally, the multi-media equipment is completed by a dual rear camera with a 48 MP primary sensor and a 5 MP secondary sensor while in the drop-shaped central notch on the display we find a 32-megapixel selfie camera. A nice record to receive the world premiere security patches, don't you think?
