OPPO Reno5 Pro + Artist Limited Edition with official electrochromic technology in China

After several weeks from the presentation of the OPPO Reno5 series, the Chinese brand has just launched the new Reno5 Pro + Artist Limited Edition. The smartphone from today on sale in China is priced at 4499 yuan (570 €) for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.

According to official data, the OPPO Reno5 Pro + Artist Limited Edition was created jointly by OPPO and Los Angeles-based visual artist Joshua Vides. This is the first smartphone with back cover produced using electrochromic technology in series.

As some of you may know, OPPO has been working on this technology since 2017 and after more than three years of hard work and after overcoming countless technical problems and accumulating more than 100 patents, the brand has innovatively developed a small molecule organic material at the gel state and electric hose. Mass production of the first electrochromic film in the mobile phone industry.

The thickness of the flexible electrochromic membrane is only about 0,15mm, and the weight is about 1,5g. There is therefore a good improvement over the thickness of several centimeters and the weight of several kilograms of typical liquid and solid electrochromic materials.

As for the internal specifications, the OPPO Reno5 Pro + Artist Limited Edition uses a 6,55-inch 90Hz screen, is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, 50MP + 16MP + 13MP + 2 quad rear camera MP, 4500mAh battery and 65W flash charging support.
