After presenting the OPPO Watch last year, the brand's first smartwatch with a Snapdragon Wear 3100 on board and ColorOS as an operating system in China (WearOS in the rest of the world), the brand now seems ready to launch its successor. the OPPO Watch 2.
The news comes from a member of the XDA forum who would have discovered some specifications and features of the next smartwatch through its firmware files.
The leak reveals that the OPPO Watch 2 will be equipped with a Snapdragon Wear 4100, which is mentioned as “msm8937_32go” in the build properties file. The global edition of the smartwatch is also likely to run on WearOS, while the Chinese variant appears to run on an operating system based on Android 8.1.
Recall that the first OPPO Watch was equipped with 8 GB of internal memory, while a file from the Watch 2 shows that the smartwatch will integrate 16GB of internal storage. Also from the leak we discover that the smartwatch will offer features such as new dials, a stress detection function and a new OPPO Relax app.
However, it appears that the OPPO Watch 2 will continue to adopt a square-shaped dial like the previous model. It may come with e-SIM support for LTE connectivity, while the launch date is still an unknown.
