After being released in China in March, the OPPO Watch is unfortunately still awaited in Europe. But that could change between poco.
OPPO Watch ECG will be presented in the Global version on September 24th
According to what is shared by OPPO's Weibo account (the Chinese Twitter), the smartwatch will be released in the Global version on September 24. But it does not end there, because in the same post OPPO states that the global version will be equipped with the ECG functionality, or the one for the electrocardiogram.
However, even with the hardware installed, the feature must obtain the appropriate certifications in various countries around the world in order for it to be used. This happened for the Apple Watch and the Samsung Galaxy Watch3, for example, both are equipped with ECGs but the function can only be used in selected countries where the authorities have given their consent.
That said, OPPO claims that the Watch ECG Edition has already gained FDA approval in the United States. It is hoped that in the following months this will also happen in other countries, although honestly we are already in September and we would be happy to be able to buy the smartwatch in the first place.
