This morning there was the official presentation of the OxygenOS 11, the custom skin of devices OnePlus. A few days ago we announced some news that the brand would bring to its interface including the Always on Display. In particular, this feature is the most requested by users as it has never been implemented by OnePlus on its Android-based operating system. In any case, today we see the main news but not as we usually do. In fact, we see a video that shows us the transition effects, the changes to the homepage and all the new things that the eleventh release of Oxygen, in China HydrogenOS, will take us.
Let's cut the bull's head and see a clip that tells us all the news of the OxygenOS 11: the design is the most refined aspect
Let's not hide it: the similarity with the MIUI 12 it is "uncanny". From the aesthetic point of view and therefore all the transition effects, the ability to customize theAlways on Display and the home page, the application drawer and so on we can say that the inspiration is taken from the Xiaomi interface. But no more chatter and let's see the clip that tells us in detail what are the changes compared to the tenth release which is currently on most devices OnePlus.
The first thing the video shows us is the left of the home page. Currently, at least I on OnePlus 8, I have the opportunity to read the news on Google News . Later, thanks to the introduction of the OxygenOS 11 it will be possible to view data relating to the use of the smartphone. In particular, we see the tweaks dedicated to the calculator, the address book, the weather and the notes. Immediately below is the amount of data traffic itulated, the remaining battery and so on. Poco further down there is the possibility to access all applications, a bit like a double app drawer.
It then changes the call interface very slightly, but in this case the differences are minimal. On the other hand, a clear novelty is the dynamism of the backgrounds and personalization of the same. As we see in the second interlude of the clip, the movement of the fingers on the display the position of elements on the screen also changes: we have seen this transition effect (not in the same but similar way) with i Super Wallpapers of MIUI 12.

Moving on to the news in terms of Features, we also have some small previews here. In particular from a photographic point of view it will be possible transform a photograph into a document we have in the gallery. In this way, even if a shot came wrong or if it is in color and we need it in black and white, with a simple tap in the "Settings”It will be possible for us to transform it.
Through the "Gallery" app it will also be possible to make one slideshow of all the photos we have. Obviously we can count on some fading effect but for the moment there is no news about it.
For what concerns the weather widget we are shown how this is ultra dynamic and colorful. In particular, a novelty that many custom interfaces have implemented for some time will also be present on OxygenOS 11. Let's talk about the background change on an environmental basis. This means that al Weather change will match a widget background change. Towards the end of the video we can see how when it rains, the widget shows clouds with rain. The same happens with the passage of time: the screen gets darker at night and so on.
Another novelty concerns the drop-down menu. The main differences are thelarge clock top left, iterated immediately on the right, the new pen design to add or remove the frames and gear.
Release times and upgradeable smartphones
At least as regards the Chinese version, the smartphones that will receive the update go from the entire OnePlus 6 series to the entire OnePlus 8 series. As a result, older smartphones will be left behind. As for the release times instead:
- today the release of Developer Preview 3;
- the release of the beta on September 8;
- from mid-October the release of the building;
- in mid-December all devices should receive the update, barring unforeseen circumstances.
