After theofficial announcement of Android 12 early last month, the new version of the OS began rolling out on the first Pixel devices. And now several brands, including Chinese ones, are starting to integrate the Closed Beta program. And what happened this month to OnePlus 8 e 8 Pro.
OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro: Paranoid Android Sapphire Alpha build based on Android 12 is available
As per a recent post on our forums, one alpha build of Paranoid Android Sapphire is now always available for these two devices. The custom ROM is based on Android 12, and packs most of the new features introduced by Google in the latest OS update. Furthermore, the custom ROM includes Hampus Olsson wallpapers, Some UI improvements to enhance the user experience and more.
If you want to try Paranoid Android Sapphire on your OnePlus 8/8 Pro, you can download the ROM from the XDA Forums thread (LINK HERE). However, it is possible to encounter some unexpected problems since this is an alpha release. Alternatively, especially for those who are not very familiar with modding, it is possible to wait until the official release by OnePlus.
It's also worth mentioning that the alpha version of Paranoid Android Sapphire for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro has some known issues with Wi-Fi Direct and 5G connectivity. It also does not support custom kernels, unless the kernel specifies that it supports Paranoid Android.
