A few days ago Google announced the new smartphone Google Pixel 6a but it also announced the next ones of the Pixel 7, 7 Pro line and with surprise even the Pixel Watch. The latter specifically, represents one of the most anticipated devices of the year. However, according to the latest leak, the processor will not live up to our expectations. In fact we will find a Quite old SoC. Let's go see which one.
Which processor will Pixel Watch have? According to internal sources, it seems that we will find the SoC of the Samsung Galaxy Watch from 2018. A SoC from 4 years ago
The Google Pixel Watch was officially unveiled during the Google I / O 2022 conference held this week. However, the big tech hasn't revealed all the details about its smartwatch, such as the processor and other components. However, the information collected by the site 9to5Google point out that the chip Exynos 9110, which equipped the Samsung Galaxy Watch launched in 2018, will be the processor of Google's smartwatch, disappointing most users.
Late last year, information surfaced that the Pixel Watch was using a chipset Samsung. However, it was soon thought to be a newer component, such as the Exynos W920 found in the Galaxy Watch 4. The Exynos W920 would give the Pixel Watch better performance and efficiency since its production process is of 5 nanometers and the chip uses Cortex-A55 cores. The Exynos 9110 on the other hand is built in 10 nanometer and with two Cortex-A53 cores.
It is worth mentioning that at the launch of the W920, Samsung claimed that the CPU was about 20% faster and with ten times better graphics performance than its predecessor. But because Should Google be using an old chip? According to 9to5Google the reason would be the fact that the Pixel Watch project is old.
Of course, the chipset isn't everything. So we await the release and the first reviews to see if our fears are truly founded.
