The research company Counterpoint Research published a report on the state of the mobile processor market in Android smartphones for the first quarter of 2022. Experts analyzed which chips are mainly used in devices of one or another price category.
The market leaders are once again Qualcomm and MediaTek. The former posted its third consecutive record quarterly revenue of $ 11.6 billion. MediaTek is also not far behind, earning $ 4.8 billion in the first quarter of 2022, up 10.2% in the quarter and 32% in the 2021 quarter. It is worth mentioning that last year MediaTek has become the largest mobile processor manufacturer in the world with a market share of 44%, while Qualcomm finished second with 35%.

From the graph above, MediaTek dominates the $ 100 to $ 199 smartphone segment with a clear advantage (63%). At the same time, in the budget segment itself (up to $ 99), Unisoc is an equal competitor.
