Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 is in pre-production with TSMC's 5nm process
According to Taiwanese media, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and its X60 5G modems will be built using a 5nm production process and manufactured by the famous TSMC. Specifically, the Snapdragon 875 was filmed last week at the TSMC Nanke number 18 factory.
With the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, TSMC has rapidly increased the production capacity to 5 nm of the eighteenth Nanke factory to nearly 60.000 units in a single month.
At present, TSMC's 5nm production capacity has increased by almost 6.000 pieces, an increase of more than 10% over last month, which also makes the production capacity of the P1 and P2 factories of plant no. 18 of Nanke of TSMC headquarters.
In any case, industry experts estimate that Qualcomm is investing 6.000 to 10.000 in TSMC's 5 nm films in a month. So, if production is started right now, the Snapdragon 875 should be ready for delivery for the month of September.
Of course, the various smartphones that will adopt the new chipset will be revealed later, i.e. early next year.
