Snapdragon 895: results of the first tests, beats Apple A14 Bionic

New details have emerged about the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 895. As we communicated a few days ago, the two processors that take this name (the standard and the Plus variant) will be built with the same lithographic process but by different companies. While waiting for official news about the performances, we are satisfied with some data coming from the net. Specifically, the team of wccftech got his hands on the first tests of the performance of the Snapdragon 895. Let's go see the numbers.

These are the results of the first performance tests on Snapdragon 895, the new Qualcomm processor that should arrive next year

The first details on the new flagship processor of Qualcomm have surfaced online. In addition to the key features of the architecture of the mobile chip, the results of its synthetic tests are known: in particular, the future top-of-the-range platform was compared on Geekbench with the current Apple processor. According to the source, the 895nm Snapdragon 4 architecture will include four clusters simultaneously with a different number of processor cores:

  • 1 x Corex-X2
  • 3 x Cortex-A710
  • 2 x Cortex-A510 (high frequency)
  • 2 x Cortex-A510 (low frequency)

According to an insider's report, another feature of the new mobile platform will be the support for fast charging technology up to 100W. Also, the author of the post gives the test results of the new chip in Geekbench: 1250 and 4000 points with a load on one and all CPU cores, respectively.

For comparison, the results of theApple A14 Bionic in similar areas are 1596 and 4027 points. It is possible that an engineering sample of the Qualcomm chip has been tested and its performance will improve upon release. The debut of the first Snapdragon 895-based smartphones will take place, according to unconfirmed reports, at the end of this year.

Which smartphones will be equipped with this processor? No doubt Xiaomi Mi 12: the company's CEO has indeed confirmed (albeit partially) the presence of the SOC on the next top of the range. But also realme GT 2 will adopt it, as revealed.
