realme 8 Pro vs realme 7 Pro: is it really worth the change?

Today it was also presented for Italy the realme 8 Pro, what should be a best buy for the company. We say "should" because the sense of this device not much has been understood yet. In fact, this is an iteration of the previous realme 7 Pro, only with slightly revised design. the changes made are reduced to the bone but the price has increased. In this comparison we want to see if the change of generation is really worth it.

As can be seen, i changes are very littlethose that are there are minimal. A small step has been taken in terms of weight, removing almost 6 grams (imperceptible) and this would make the smartphone one of the lightest on the market. Also in terms of design the device is not improved poco, with those symmetrical rear cameras that look at each other with pleasure.

As for the display, nothing has changed except the brightness In fact, in the technical data sheets we find a increased nit from realme 7 Pro to realme 8 Pro: move on from 600 to 1000, resulting in greater visibility especially under sunlight.

The only really substantial difference, although some users will not share, is in the photographic sector. Big leap forward in terms of number of megapixels: we go from a main sensor from 64 megapixels to one from 108 megapixels. This feature has been popular over the past couple of years but perhaps realme has come a little behind the competition. The realme 8 Pro also loses the 5 megapixel macro, replaced by a 2 megapixel one. Without a doubt the Image processing software has improved with the new device. It also loses resolution selfie camera, from 32 to 16 megapixels.

La charging power has decreased, going from 65W to 50W maximum. However, the battery capacity remains unchanged.

Conclusions

Is it worth changing? The vast majority of users will lean towards no, but we see the larger issue. You can consider the realme 7 Pro an older generation device now, since the 8 is now official. This brings the former to one rather early devaluation since it came out poco more than six months ago. Basically this is our (my) point of view: in terms of performance the change is not to be done, but if you look to the future, and therefore to the sale of the old device to buy another, then the exchange is recommended.
