Contest entries containing images, GIFs or text describing the new functionality will be accepted until September 21th. The next day, the work of the three finalists will be posted on Twitter and the winner will be determined by the users' voting results on 24 September. It is expected that the best implementation of the feature will soon appear in the firmware of some smartphones with one of the updates.
The idea of creating an "island" involves displaying information about calls in arrival, notifications and other useful data in a dedicated interface element around the selfie camera hole on the gadget screen. Previously, a similar feature had been demonstrated by an enthusiast on a Xiaomi smartphone.
