There was a time when my heart belonged to Xiaomi but knowing better the Realme devices, I understood that it would not be just an escapade but much more. So here I am in love with the new Realme GT NEO 3 150W, an acronym that portends great potential that I want to share with you in this complete review.

Design and Materials
We could say that this is the least innovative aspect of Realme GT NEO 3, providing lines and materials that are completely similar to other products of the same brand. But the feeling with the rear is something special, I would say almost sexy, in fact on the back we find a glass with a slightly rubberized finish and pleasant to the touch, but above all the oleophobic treatment is perfect, so you will not have to worry about finding yourself with the body full of fingerprints and dirt, so the supplied cover could also be forgotten in the sales box.
I would have preferred the more tamarra version, the one with the two white racing car stripes, but also the black color I tested was pleasant thanks to a glitter effect when hit by the sun's rays. On the back we then find a photographic compartment inserted in a rectangular bump while on the profiles, made of plastic, we find on the right the power button and mirrored the volume rocker. On the upper profile there is the second microphone and the first of the two speakers as the second can be seen in the lower profile accompanied by Type-C input for charging with OTG support (no video output), main microphone and SIM tray, capable of host 2 SIM in nano format but without the possibility of expanding the internal memory with micro SD.
The dimensions and weight of the Realme GT NEO 3, or 163.3 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm for 188 grams, make the smartphone handy and comfortable even for single-handed use, with a good grip given by slightly rounded edges.

One thing that really made me enjoy this Realme-branded smartphone is undoubtedly the display, a 6,7-inch diagonal panel with Full HD + resolution (2412 x 1080 pixels) with AMOLED technology and protected by Corning Gorilla glass. So far nothing particular on paper, but then when you use it constantly for multimedia content you realize the other wonders available, such as HDR10 + compatibility, Widevine L1 DRMs recognized on all streaming platforms including Prime Video, but above all the extreme fluidity of 120 Hz as a refresh rate.
The brightness is really high, such as to allow the readability of the contents on the screen even under direct sunlight. The color reproduction is textbook, counting on a DCI-P3 profile of 100%, offering perfect whites and blacks, without any deviation towards other shades. At the software level, there is also the possibility of calibrating the balance of colors and contrast at will, but it will not help because the Realme GT NEO 3 display is perfect as it comes from the factory. Moreover, everything is even more satisfying to the eye, considering the very thin frames that surround the screen, in which the proximity and brightness sensors are also inserted, which work perfectly. Finally, compared to past generations, the punch-hole of the selfie camera has been positioned in the center, making the design in general even more symmetrical. Present the Always On Display also customizable with photos and logos.
The AMOLED technology naturally allowed the company to insert an ultra-performing sensor under the display for unlocking with a fingerprint, capable of returning truly excellent reactivity and reliability. Of course, for unlocking you can also rely on the classic PIN, pattern and unlocking via the face.
Hardware and Performance
Let's start with making a premise, namely that Realme is currently the only company capable of optimizing and squeezing any MediaTek brand processor. This means that we could always count on good performance but also on a considerable saving on the list price. Having said that, Realme GT NEO 3 under the hood is equipped with an engine to rival even the high end of Qualcomm, equipping itself with the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5G, a SoC with 5 nm production process, octa-core clocked solution maximum at 2.86 GHz.
This is accompanied by the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU capable of returning graphic details at the highest levels, allowing you to fully enjoy the latest generation games, with effects to say the least. poco realistic. The performances are then further guaranteed by 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, unfortunately not expandable. We also have a processor dedicated to the display, able to provide greater performance in the gaming field but not only, consuming less energy which consequently affects temperatures held in check, thanks to an advanced cooling system obtained from the combination of thermal gels. graphene, and silica gel, avoiding excessive overheating. Realme GT NEO 3 is a true top of the range capable of carrying out the toughest tasks without particular efforts, a true technological warrior. Moreover, the industry benchmarks make the Dimensity 8100 processor even superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Now the Realme UI arrived at version 3.0 is one of the best Android ROMs in circulation, offering many customizations in terms of graphics but also of functions. Here we do not find anything particularly different than what we have already seen on other models and the security patches are from May 2022 (obtained with a recent update) and Android 12 operating system, but the Asian brand has been able to demonstrate that it is particularly behind the various updates in general and in any case basic with Realme GT NEO 3 you will have 2 guaranteed years of major updates as well as 3 years of security patches. More than this, however, I want to emphasize how the system typically optimized by Realme is free from bugs and therefore 100% reliable.
In reality, we have something more with this "technological monster", that is, by connecting the smartphone to the PC and downloading the appropriate software, we could fully control the device from the PC, as the interface will be replicated directly on the desktop . From here we could then make calls, open applications and much more.
Autonomy
As the name suggests, Realme GT NEO 3 150W is able to unleash a super fast recharge through proprietary DART CHARGE technology and its charger supplied in the package, with a capacity of 150W. With this power it will take us 5 minutes to get 50% charge while it will only take 17 to get a full 100%, the time for a shower and a coffee. An absolute first but that should not make you doubt the actual battery life, a 4500 mAh unit capable of giving you at least 6 hours of active screen and / or in any case a full day of use. Of course, considering the good hardware under the hood you will be tempted to push yourself beyond reasonable use and therefore you will not have to worry about ever running out of water or not having enough time to finish the day.
A small hint I have to do with the charger supplied in the package, as this is not only capable of delivering a power up to 150W, but it can also be used as a notebook charger, considering the USB Type-C connection, so you might consider to take only him on a trip or for work.
Connectivity
For calls and internet browsing, the Realme GT NEO 3 can rely on the 5G SA / NSA standard as well as Dual VoLTE. I have not been able to test its efficiency as my operator and especially where I live do not offer services for this connectivity, but I have always been able to count on the 4G + signal with speed to say the least. poco comparable to the best ADSL in circulation. No FM radio, but I wouldn't make a big deal out of it considering the streaming services we're used to. Present instead WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 (one of the first smartphones), GPS with connection of Galileo satellites and NFC sensor for mobile payments.

Camera
Although the photographic sector of Realme GT NEO 3 is similar if not the same as what is seen on other smartphones, also in this case the software optimization of the Asian brand has managed to raise the yield in general. We are talking about a lens whose main sensor is the SONY IMX766, 50 MP and f / 1.88 aperture equipped with OIS stabilizer and PDAF focus. This is accompanied by two other sensors, an ultra-wide 8 MP f / 2.25 lens and 119,7 ° FOV and finally a 2 MP, f / 2.4 macro camera and 4 cm close focus.
We have the ability to record videos up to 4K 60 fps but in this case the optical stabilization does not come into play, so we need to go down to the resolution of 1080p 60fps, hoping that it is only a software defect that will be solved later. For the rest, the capture of microphones capable of canceling background noise, enhancing the voice, is excellent, but a resounding applause goes above all to the 50 MP main optics for photos, which even in low light conditions manages to capture shots with little digital noise, but with high-end camera phone detail and clarity.
You can see that Realme has worked a lot on the software and related algorithms and it can be seen from the rendering of the night mode. Unfortunately I cannot make the same considerations for the other two lenses and not even for the 16 MP selfie camera, f / 2,45 sensor Samsung S5K3P9. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to say that the photos are to be thrown away but the quality gap between these 3 lenses and the main sensor is abysmal. Present many software functions and filters to embellish the shots already in pre-production.
Conclusions
Although this smartphone is not advertised by the company as a top of the range, the showdown is that Realme GT NEO 3 is a super smartphone. There are two variants to arrive on the market, namely the 150W one equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and the 80W one with a cut of 8/256 GB.
Both devices will be discounted in the initial launch phase from 15 to 22 June 2022 by 50 € compared to the relative list prices, both on Amazon and on the company's official store (the 80W version includes a bundle with the new Buds headphones. Air 3 Nitro). Offerings aside, this device is one that I would recommend to my closest friend, due to its reliability as well as of course the goosebumps for performance thrills. An all-round smartphone that undoubtedly becomes even more interesting for the prices it proposes. Probably the street price that will come shortly will make it a best buy, so it's up to you to wait or get it right from the first hour.
