As we learned a few days ago, the Red Magic 5S will be officially released on July 28th and will arrive with the slogan "Beyond Plus".
No Snapdragon 865 Plus for the Red Magic 5S
This morning, the official account of the Red Magic brand has officially announced that the Red Magic 5S will support the GPU Boost function; which is a common GPU overclocking feature for PC. This consists in increasing the clock frequency on condition that a set temperature is not exceeded.
Poco later, Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station stated that he believes the Red Magic 5S will be equipped with a Snapdragon 865, which supports GPU overclocking.
Then adding that the official data claim that the Snapdragon 865 Plus GPU has a frequency of 670 MHz, while the Red Magic smartphone will have a higher frequency. So what happened in 2019 could be repeated with the overclocked version of the Snapdragon 855 which still gave the Snapdragon 855 Plus a hard time.
Previously it had been reported that Chinese manufacturers would not be able to use the new Snapdragon 865 Plus, as opposed to brands with factories outside the Asian country such as Samsung, Lenovo and Asus.
In any case, according to the official teasers, the Red Magic 5S has the cooling system as its strength, which for the first time will use a silver alloy to increase thermal conductivity. The metal pad will then be supported by high performance thermal gel and a large liquid cooling tube.
