The next flagships will mount the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. There is poco to do, the US company is traveling at supersonic speed and annually fielding a top-of-the-range processor. According to the latest rumors, the SoC in question will be presented during the "Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit”Very soon, but it will be integrated in the first smartphones only starting next year. Leaks always talk about the first three months of 2021. But on the one hand we know the code name Lahaina and the possible improvements compared to the predecessor and current top of the range SoC, nothing has been reported regarding the benchmark scores. A leak, however, reveals what the very first score… and leaves you speechless.
Nearly 850.000 points for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 875 - too powerful devices are expected next year
Clearly the reference platform (and the most reliable one) is AnTuTu. We usually deal with her every beginning of the month for the rankings referring to the most powerful devices, rather than the best mid-range on the market. According to what emerged from a recent leak, the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 875 scored 847.868 points. Without any deadline comparison this figure is nil and therefore let's see the direct competitors to what they stopped. We also consider the predecessor 865, the current flagship SoC, just to make a broader comparison.
- Snapdragon 865+: 629.245 points;
- Apple A14 Bionic: 564.899 points on the iPhone 12;
- Samsung Exynos 1080: 693.000 points and we will find it, perhaps, on vivo X60;
- Kirin HiSilicon 9000: 696.000 points on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro.
As we see in the first tweet photo above, the processor has beat everyone in the AnTuTu benchmark scores. Of course, this if the leak turns out to be true. If this were not the case, history would change. In any case, if confirmed it would be a upgrade of about 30% compared to the "Plus" model previous.
Which means that its successors will reach such a high computing power that it reaches that of a PC.
Obviously it must be taken into account that the score itself is nothing if the CPU is not coupled to an equally performing GPU and snappy as well as capacious memories.
