Few perhaps know the TCL company in the smartphone sector, better appreciated for the solutions offered via smart TV, but for some time the company has thrown itself into the mobile telephony field without fear of innovating and amaze, thanks to a series of prototypes related to folding smartphones or with removable display.
The patent filed at the end of 2019 with the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Office) is no less so, in which a new smartphone is shown that apparently does not seem to present anything in particular, or rather it does not seem to present the main features of a smartphone. In fact, the screen has no notches or holes, nor is there an element referable to a pop-up camera on the top of the device, so it is conceivable that the selfie camera is integrated under the screen.

Furthermore, judging the illustrations appeared in the document, even the ear capsule cannot be distinguished, therefore the audio could be conveyed through bone conduction, while the edges of the display are curved and free of physical elements such as volume and power buttons, actions that could be managed by gesture to be performed right on the edges.
What is undoubtedly innovative is the choice to exclude also a power button, although probably some special actions are delegated to the only physical presences positioned in the lower part where there is a Type-C port, speaker and SIM trolley. On the rear we find a photographic sector that includes only two sensors arranged horizontally, plus 4 other elements, one of which will undoubtedly be the Flash Led, but we ignore what the remaining 3 can be.
Of course, the TCL patent may not have developed, but we would be curious to ask the team what they had in mind when they developed this idea. And what do you think of it?
